What are my options for acquiring a business credit card?

Question by LRJ: What are my options for acquiring a business credit card?
I am a recent college graduate looking to start a tax preparation business. I have average credit with one major charge off on my credit report. What are my options for applying for a business credit card to finance office material and supplies? Im not looking for a huge credit limit, just need about 5k.

I know its ONLY 5k and your probably thinking I should borrow it from my parents or ask a “rich family member” I dont have those kind of resources so please refrain from those kind of answers. Serious answers only. Thanks in advance!

When I started my business my credit card was based off of my credit since my business wasn’t around long enough for the credit card companies attach my credit account to my business. I went with Chase and got a Business Professional credit card account which but a percent of my purchases back in the form of cash checks I got in the mail. They also for the first year gave me no interest. You might want to try going to a bank with your business plan also and pitch your plan to them to get a loan but these days that might be like pulling teeth.
Another alternative is to look for someone to invest in your company. Find some friends or friends of friends whom have money to invest and pitch them your idea and break down ROI for them. Lastly you could start a tax preparation business and apply for a grants. There might be one where you could do x amount of tax returns for the underprivileged in return for money. Good luck.

How does a business go about reporting credit on the clients it gives credit to?

Question by Myke R: How does a business go about reporting credit on the clients it gives credit to?
If I just purchased a used car dealership a couple months ago and wanted to report to Equifax and others about the credit I extended, how do I go about having them accept and use my reports so buyers can have documented their good or bad credit? I’ve tried to visit websites and there does not seem to be anything that addresses this at equifax and the other agencies.

You become a member of the bureau (in other words, pay a fee) and this also entitles you to access credit reports for individuals to whom you are seeking to extend credit. Contact the bureau directly – you’ll need proof that you are a business operating in that space.

Q&A: How do I get business credit without using my social security number?

Question by Mario: How do I get business credit without using my social security number?
I just recently started my own small business after watching my boss make tons of money off of my idea. I’ve been trying to obtain business credit but I am having a problem, because I am a new business. I do not want to use myself as a personal guarantor due to some credit issues I have gained while in college, and co-signing for my ex. So if you have any tips please feel free to post them. Thanks for your time.

Sorry but you can’t. You will need to use your social or you will not get any money.

Can a credit card company get a judgement against you and take the funds from your business account?

Question by rlacy916: Can a credit card company get a judgement against you and take the funds from your business account?
I would like to know about collection laws in California. If my girlfriend had a dispute with a credit card company and didn’t pay the $ 5000.00 balance, can they get a judgement against her and take that money out of our business account?

Can they take the money out of a trust if she is the beneficiary?

We need asset protection advice!

I’m not an expert on CA law, but you might want to say whether your business is incorporated or not.

Q&A: How can I establish business credit without my personal credit?

Question by The DoorMan: How can I establish business credit without my personal credit?
With a new start-up business (incorporated), how do you get serious business credit that doesn’t tie down your personal credit with personal guarantees?

Best answer:

Answer by resmtg
Yes you can get business credit using a corp. Generally, you will need to be incorporated at least 2 years, and have a high Paydex score. If you have a 660 minimum middle FICO Score you can get funded in 48 hours as a business line of credit with a personal guarantee. When you are ready, email me I can get this done for you.
